1. What is Passage?
Passage exists to resource fathers, trusted guides and young men with the tools
necessary to begin the lifelong journey of discovering:
Who they are as a man
What it takes to be a follower of Christ
How to navigate their faith in their culture
This is accomplished through biblically based conferences and “rite of passage”
follow-up resources.
2. Who is Passage for?
Passage is designed for a father, a stepfather, a grandfather, an uncle or a trusted
mentor and a 13-19 year old young man. Please note that because of the conference
content, it is inappropriate for anyone younger than 13 years old.
3. How do I get Passage Brochures, Bulletin Inserts or Promotional DVDs?
Check out the Resources tab on the website, www.Passage.org.
4. Why the Passage Ministry?
In today’s world, the vast majority of boys are left to transition from adolescence
to manhood on their own. Like rudderless boats on the open seas, young men are being
sent adrift without a spiritual or moral compass. As a result multitudes of ‘men’
have matured physically but have remained adolescents emotionally and spiritually.
Our passion is to resource fathers, mentors and pastors to be able to serve this
next generation’s ability to inherit their divine calling. Passage is a transformational
ministry that will give them the tools to help ignite a young man’s passageway to
manhood. Specifically, this will fuel His word, aligning himself with the camaraderie
of the brotherhood, and advance the work of God’s Kingdom.
5. What is the weekend Conference about?
The “target” for the weekend conference is to hit three critical objectives:
Cast Vision for a Christ-centered Masculinity: Helping both the father or father
figure and the young man to understand the foundational reality that Jesus Christ
is the ultimate example and greatest source of strength and identity.
Foster a Relational Connection: The weekend is designed to facilitate a heart to
heart link between a father/mentor and young man in a way that leads them toward
a reconciled trusting relationship.
Gain Commitment to “The Compass” follow-up resource: Beyond an inspirational experience,
we provide a defined “rite-of-passage” process that begins with a 6-session resource
called “The Compass.” Everything is centered on the self-discovery of what it means
for both of them to effectively navigate their life as Christ-centered men.
6. What kind of things will take place at the Conference?
The conference uses a powerful combination of worship, teaching, videos, testimonials,
team building activities, profile tools and breakouts to serve as a relational and
spiritual catalyst for the father / guide and their young man. This is both a fun
and challenging experience. Please note that this will not require or demand “athletic
ability”, but might cause you to get a little “dirty”, so please dress comfortably.
7. What happens after the Weekend?
The father and son/mentor will be supplied a resource at the end of the conference
called “The Compass”. This is a post-conference study guide that equips both the
father and teen son with the essentials of what it means to become a Christ-centered
man. It will:
Begin to reveal what a biblical-based understanding of who is a godly man
Unite the father/teen son through mutual self discovery of taking a rite of passage
journey together
Expose them to a menu of resources that can fuel ongoing mentoring experiences
8. Who leads the event?
Randy Phillips is the founder and director of Passage. Randy served as a pastor
for 15 years before he became the founding President of Promise Keepers. He was
the visionary for the largest gathering of followers of Christ in our Nation’s history,
where over 1 million men and boys gathered in Washington, DC for “Stand in the Gap.”
He was a contributing author of the best selling book 7 Promises, and a radio and
television guest on Focus on the Family, CBN, Moody Broadcast, and MSNBC. He has
also served as Bible study leader for the Denver Broncos. Randy received his Doctor
of Divinity from Hope International University. He and his wife of 32 years, Holly,
left Promise Keepers to pursue the passion of their heart, which is to meaningfully
serve and impact the next generation through the pioneering effort of “Passage”.
9. What does it cost?
Registration is $89 per father/son pair. This includes a conference syllabus, a
personal father and son profile tool, box lunch, and “The Compass” post conference
follow-up guide.
10. Are there scholarships?
Yes. Please e-mail us at passage@fathers.com or call 800.593.3237 for scholarship
information.
11. Is there a special discount for full-time Christian workers?

of conference costs ($33 per father son team).

14. Is there walk-up registration?
Yes. Please come early. Walk-up registration begins at 6pm Friday evening. Seating

than one son. Sorry, there are no exceptions. Please know that these are ongoing
annual conferences.
16. What about something for fathers with teen girls?
