Purpose of Passage Life is a journey, and each man must navigate his own path through it. In an ideal circumstance, a dad – connected heart-to-heart with his son and grounded in a relationship with his Father in heaven – would pour his life lessons and wisdom into his son and help him pass through territory he has already traveled. Unfortunately, in a our sin-infected and spiritually embattled world, the more common scenario is that of a young man who, because of a disengaged dad, attempts to traverse the passage from boyhood to manhood either on his own or with the advice of clueless peers – therefore limiting his ability to live life to his full potential. The last verse of the Old Testament provides a direct link between the posture of the heart of a father and his children and the destiny of a nation: “He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.” (Malachi 4:6, NASB). God can heal and restore. Passage is committed to creating life experiences and resources that invite and encourage the turning of the young man’s heart to his dad and a dad’s to his son. Passage exists to serve and link: Pastor and Leaders Helping them understand the uniqueness of men and how to create an effective learning environment for them. To know how to mobilize fathers and mentors to disciple a young man through a relationship-based model. To have turn-key resources that elevate biblically-based rites-of-passage initiatives as a valued priority of their church. Fathers and Guides To know how to overcome the internal obstacles that inhibit their fathering skills. To know how to overcome the relational obstacles with a teen.
To have effective tools that enhances their ability to lead a teen through rites-of-passage
experiences. To understand who they are as a man created in Christ’s image.
To know how to navigate their faith within their culture.
